Oklahoma Department of Education Approves iCEV for Statewide Instruction

State recognizes need for modern Career and Technical Education by approving CEV Multimedia’s online platform and curriculum

Lubbock, Texas (PRWEB) March 19, 2015

The Oklahoma Department of Education has approved iCEV, an online platform that produces and delivers comprehensive educational content, for statewide curricula. Developed by CEV Multimedia, a leading producer of Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum resources, iCEV is recommended by the state for Family & Consumer Sciences, Business & Marketing and Agricultural Science courses.

As a part of Oklahoma’s instructional materials adoption, school districts across the state can choose to access 61 iCEV courses that provide interactive online assessments and state-aligned coursework that promote student engagement and learning retention. The platform also aligns to exam objectives for courses that require end-of-course exams and fit within the iCEV curriculum. School districts can offer a wide-range of courses from the three curricula, including Chemistry of Food, Life Management, Natural Resources & Environmental Science, Animal Science, and Fashion Marketing, to name a few.

“We’re pleased to provide a comprehensive curriculum solution to school districts in Oklahoma,” said Dusty Moore, iCEV president. “By adding iCEV to the list of state-approved curriculum, educators and students have the opportunity to access quality education and career resources needed for today’s 21st century workforce.”

iCEV offers in-depth, interactive learning with professional demonstrations to prepare students for postsecondary education and future careers. Educators can quickly monitor, track and engage with students through the platform’s lessons. Additionally, iCEV offers students the opportunity to earn nationally recognized industry-backed certifications, such as the Southwest Airlines Professional Communications Certification, as they complete work toward their college and career goals.

Gryphon House releases “Getting to the Heart of Learning: Social-Emotional Skills

across the Early Childhood Curriculum”

Ellen Booth Church’s new book weaves social-emotional learning into daily lesson

Lewisville, N.C. – Gryphon House, Inc., the nation’s leading publisher of educational

resources for teachers of children ages birth to 8, announced today a new activity book

centered on social-emotional learning. “Getting to the Heart of Learning: Social-

Emotional Skills across the Early Childhood Curriculum,” by Ellen Booth Church, offers

activities designed to connect social-emotional learning seamlessly to the classroom

curriculum.

Each activity is embedded with child-development tips, research-based guidelines, and

information that supports teachers in knowing why each activity is designed a certain

way and how to encourage children to keep learning. From circle time to group activities

and taking the concepts home, the book promotes open-ended and creative explorations

that also encourage family engagement.

“Preschool and kindergarten teachers recognize both the need to address social

development in their students and with their students’ families and the need to teach the

basic skills that are essential to learning,” Church says. “These two things do not need to

be separate. The trick is to recognize the connection and emphasize it in our interactions

with children.”

Rather than adding activities throughout the day, these explorations integrate social-

emotional learning across the curriculum through group involvement and building

community.

“Getting to the Heart of Learning: Social-Emotional Skills across the Early Childhood

Curriculum” (ISBN 978-0-87659-580-0, 180 pp., $16.95) will be available for purchase in

June 2015. Educators may preorder books here. For writers interested in e-galley
