SCOTT LAYNE NAMED CHIEF OF OPERATIONS FOR DALLAS ISD

WASHINGTON, DC (July 26 2016) – – Scott Layne, ALEP, chair, Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) was recently selected as the new chief of operations for the Dallas Independent School District (ISD). Layne brings 34 years of public education experience to the district.

 

Serving as assistant superintendent for support services for the Irving Independent School District ISD for the past 10 years, his responsibilities included maintenance, grounds, custodial, energy management, warehouse transportation, safety and security, construction, food service, technology services, risk management, fixed assets/surplus, records management, health services and athletics. Additionally, Layne managed the district’s 1997, 2001 and 2007 bond construction programs, which totaled approximately $575 million.
“I’m both pleased and honored to be joining the Dallas ISD family,” Layne said. “With the recent passage of a $1.6 billion bond referendum, the Operations Department will work diligently to provide quality learning environments for our students and staff and do our part to support other district-level initiatives. It is a very exciting time in the Dallas ISD community and I look forward to being a part of it.”
