Alberta School Divisions Partner with PublicSchoolWORKS to Automate and Sustain Complete School Safety
With the addition of five divisions, Alberta now has 36 schools using PublicSchoolWORKS to ensure student and staff safety and full compliance
Cincinnati, OH (September 17, 2015) — School divisions in Alberta are automating their safety and compliance programs with PublicSchoolWORKS, the signature safety solution for schools. To stay in compliance with mandates, divisions have access to streamlined, online software suites, an expert research and development team to track changing legislation and an award-winning client services team. The five new divisions are Calgary Public Schools, Clearview Public Schools, Foundations for the Future Charter Academy, Palliser Regional Schools and Saint Thomas Aquinas Roman (STAR) Catholic School Division.
“At a previous position in Alberta, I used PublicSchoolWORKS to make a process that can be complicated much easier,” said Peter Neale, Associate Superintendent of Business and Finance at Clearview Public Schools. “In addition to being so easy for staff to use, PublicSchoolWORKS solves many questions when it comes to the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) reporting that all schools must provide. It gives divisions a foundation for creating a strong safety plan and framework, yet it still has flexibility to be customized.”
These divisions join 36 other divisions in Alberta using PublicSchoolWORKS. Long-term customer Chinook’s Edge School Division No. 73 used the EmployeeSafe Suite to achieve Alberta’s prestigious Certificate of Recognition (COR) in 2010. Additionally, when a 2012 audit gave the division a low score for its Ongoing Inspections strategy, Chinook’s Edge used EmployeeSafe Suite’s automated compliance task management system so individual sites could effectively conduct their own inspections. As a result, a health and safety consultant from the third party firm listed the division’s Ongoing Inspections strategy as, “a great improvement” and “seems to be well-received” during the 2013 post-audit meeting.
“Administrators already have so many responsibilities on their radar and new legislation calling for additional safety tasks and training in schools can be challenging and time-consuming,” said Tom Strasburger, Vice President of PublicSchoolWORKS. “Our team gives our customers peace of mind because we interpret the intent of the law and create and deploy the corresponding content so completing the new requirement is easy.”
